Trip Report: Beautiful British Columbia – Part Two

May 5, 2008 at 7:00 am (Trip Reports)

The next day we successfully got breakfast at Ihop. It was pretty tasty but not as magical as I hoped it would be. The pancakes were fantastic but the eggs/hashbrowns/etc were pretty standard.

Then we made our way to the PNE Amusement Park, which is located in the heart of Vancouver. There were so many crazy asian ladies holding ‘parking’ signs around the regular parking lot, and we were told of this from Sean (Heather’s cop boyfriend) so when we were approached by one of them giving us 4 dollar parking instead of 6.50, we decided to take it! She took off down the alley and we followed her in the car and it was pretty funny how fast she ran to get to the parking spot (her driveway). Then we paid her and she took off again to go find more people to park, and I snagged a picture of her as she ran back:

We made it to the park and waited around for it to open.

First we went on a wooden roller coaster which was scary and fun because it always felt like it was going to break and/or we were going to fly out of the seat.

Afterwards we journeyed to the other coaster there, the Corkscrew which was a more updated coaster.

It was a little more fun since it felt a lot safer and there wasn’t the fear of dying. It was getting hot now so we decided to jump in the Log Flume ride lineup before it got too long, and it was still quite the wait. It was great though, but really gave me the urge to go to a water park. Also there was an octopus:

Then it was the Hellevator, which was this park’s Tower of Terror. Merchandising and everything. It was great, because unlike most ‘drop of doom’ type rides this one shoots you UP really fast to start off with, and it was something I didn’t expect!

We didn’t go on the Ferris Wheel because we were not twelve or eighty years old.

We did go on the bumper cars however and I had the only cat car. Also my brother and I pulled a pretty sweet move where we crashed into her in succession and then passed each other and high fived.

Also during the whole trip I was antsy for finding a sweet arcade, and we actually found a really awesome one inside the park.

They had a lot of classic games like X-Men and Simpsons, but a fair amount of new ones as well like Silent Scope. Also they were only one or two quarters unlike most arcades where EVERYTHING IS A DOLLAR.

Then we went into the haunted house:

It was fun, you walk through it and there are lots of different rooms and actual people dressed up who jump out at you, and follow you sometimes. We heard in the distance loud screams and eventually caught up to the source, a few teenage girls who demanded we tell them the way out, they kept screaming at everything that happened and it was hilarious. We eventually found the exit but lost our brother and had to go back for him. One of the monsters tried to pose as him and come out with us but we had to turn him down.

Also the mascot was this bear in a conductor’s suit, and he was always walking around with these two girl park employees which led us to believe he was a pimp bear.

I imagine if he was talking here he’d be saying ‘where mah bitchez at?’

There were a few rides we didn’t go on, mostly because they would make me vomit.

Also I got a caramel apple because I love those.

And that was all for the park! We also went to the Metrotown Mall, which is supposedly the second largest mall in Canada (the first being West Ed)

It was a great trip, I hope to go again sometime!
